Insulation programs and a solar hot water rebate are currently available to eligible householders, Member for Riverina, Kay Hull, advised today.
“I encourage householders to find out if they are eligible to access the assistance,” Mrs. Hull said.
The following assistance is available:
Homeowner Insulation Program
Provides assistance up to $1,600 to eligible owner-occupiers to install ceiling insulation in a principal place of residence with little or no ceiling insulation.
Low Emission Assistance Plan for Renters
Provides assistance up to $1,000 to eligible landlords and tenants to install insulation in private rental and other properties (including holiday homes) with little or no existing ceiling insulation.
Solar Hot Water Rebate
Provides a $1,600 rebate to help households replace their old electric storage hot water systems with an eligible solar or heat pump hot water system.
“Each program has eligibility criteria however there is no means testing for the ceiling insulation programs or the solar hot water rebate.
“Please be aware that the $1,600 Solar Hot Water Rebate is an alternative to the $1,600 Homeowner Insulation Program. Homeowners can’t access both rebates for the same home,” Mrs. Hull said.
