“The Committee has noted that young people are often seen as the perpetrators of public violence and it is not understood that they are actually overwhelmingly the victims,” Mrs. Hull said.
“Many of our young Australians are impacted by violence, which causes a great deal of worry for them and their families,” Mrs. Hull said.
The Committee would like to hear from the community on the issue of youth violence. Specifically they want to know; what does it mean to you and how has it affected you or someone you know?
The Committee invites interested persons and organisations to make submissions addressing the terms of reference by Friday, 23 October 2009.
