The Riverina has been awarded a total of $266,031 to non-profit organisations with volunteers, through the Volunteer Grants 2009 program, The Nationals Member for Riverina, Kay Hull, said today.
“85 non-profit organisations have received grants, which is terrific,” Mrs. Hull said.
“Our local voluntary groups contribute so much to the Riverina communities with an amazing amount of personal time and resources donated by individuals just to keep these organisations going, so this is fantastic news,” Mrs. Hull said.
The money will be used to purchase small equipment items and contribute towards reimbursement of fuel costs incurred by volunteers.
