Three Riverina career advisers have been awarded Australian Government Scholarships for Career Advisers, The Nationals Member for Riverina, Kay Hull, announced today.

Mrs Hull warmly congratulated Julie Hyland from TAFE NSW Riverina Institute, Paul Worsfold from Wagga Wagga’s Charles Sturt University and Carl Chirgwin from Griffith High School who each received one of these important nationally awarded scholarships. The recipients of these scholarships will be supported as they build their knowledge and skills through industry placements or further studies.

“Career advisers help our young people achieve their goals by offering advice and helping them develop strong career management skills,” Mrs Hull said.

“Through their dedication and commitment, they are often invaluable in guiding the students towards their aspirations and they deserve recognition in the role they play.”

Mrs Hull said the annual scholarships support the Government’s plan to improve the quality of career education in schools and are an integral part of the Career Advice Australia initiative which aims to help young people identify and work towards achieving a fulfilling career pathway.
Mrs Hull said further information on the Scholarships for Career Advisers program is available at www.deewr.gov.au/scholarshipsforcareeradvisers
