The Nationals Member for Riverina, Kay Hull, is supportive of the initiative and has encouraged Riverina residents to participate.
“Twenty eight days off alcohol not only gives your liver a break, but also raises much needed funds for organisations that help treat young people with serious alcohol and drug issues,” Mrs. Hull said.
“Money raised in New South Wales will go to the Ted Noffs Foundation and FebFast’s grants program for grassroots organisations across Australia,” Mrs. Hull said.
The Ted Noffs Foundation provides essential services for young people and their families who are experiencing drug and alcohol problems and related trauma.
Australia’s drinking culture is under the microscope more than ever, including issues such as underage and binge drinking, alcohol related violence and the impact alcohol has on the health and wellbeing of our communities.
Mrs. Hull said to visit the FebFast website at www.febfast.com.au for further information and to register.
